Door Prizes
The inaugural "Stay Out of the Sun Run" was a huge success and we thank
everyone who volunteered and participated. We hosted an inspirational evening
with 530 participants of all age groups. There were 122 participants in the
10K and 163 in the 5K runs. All others participated in the 5K walk. The race
courses utilized the Douglas Trail system to the north of Holy Spirit Catholic
Church. After the event we provided a large food spread and door prizes to the
participants and volunteers.
Most importantly, we have been able to raise awareness to many individuals
about the seriousness of melanoma and the importance of sun protection. We are
very proud to be able to present "The Mayo Clinic Cancer Center" with
a check of over $31,000 to help fund melanoma research.
Thank you again for recognizing our cause and the importance of finding a cure
for melanoma. It is with great pleasure that we will be hosting this event again
next year on May 18, 2007. Hope to see you there!
